Access to digital financial services in Metropolitan Lima faces significant structural, regulatory, and cultural challenges that limit its reach compared to countries like Bolivia and Chile. This study identifies substantial disparities in technological infrastructure, digital literacy, and legal frameworks, affecting financial inclusion in peri-urban and rural areas of Lima. While Bolivia has made progress in rural connectivity and Chile leads in financial innovation due to robust public policies, Metropolitan Lima requires regulatory reforms and greater infrastructure investment to bridge these gaps. Additionally, the lack of financial education and trust in digital platforms perpetuates the exclusion of vulnerable segments. To address these challenges, it is recommended to strengthen technological infrastructure, promote digital and financial literacy programs, and foster public-private collaboration inspired by successful models from Bolivia and Chile. Tackling these issues will not only democratize access to digital financial services but also drive economic and social development, contributing to greater equity in the digital financial ecosystem of Metropolitan Lima.
