This narrative review article analyzes the relationship between circular economy practices and financial performance in the Peruvian agro-export sector, evaluating the mediating role of green innovation in relation to the demands of global value chains and international regulations such as the European Green Deal. Methodologically, it is based on a critical review of recent academic and institutional literature in databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and national repositories. The results demonstrate that the valorization of organic byproducts and the efficient management of water and energy substantially improve profitability and reduce operating costs, but that this direct economic impact is not fully realized without the mediation of dynamic green innovation capabilities in processes, products, and ecodesign. It concludes that sustainability in the Peruvian agro-industry has ceased to be a mere regulatory compliance requirement and has become a strategic financial pillar of international competitiveness. Finally, it is proposed that future research delve deeper into quantitative empirical analysis using structural equation modeling applied to the country's main agro-exporting regions.
