This narrative review article analyzes the relationship between agile leadership and talent retention in the Peruvian retail sector, evaluating the moderating effect of organizational culture in the post-pandemic scenario. Through a comprehensive literature review, it examines how agile leadership competencies—such as empathy and operational decentralization—mitigate burnout and respond to the new expectations of flexibility and well-being among the workforce. However, the evidence gathered demonstrates that the effectiveness of these management practices does not operate in isolation, but rather is conditioned and strongly enhanced by a collaborative and flexible corporate environment. Furthermore, the reality of the Peruvian market is compared with global theoretical models, identifying barriers associated with high operational pressure and traditional structures. Finally, managerial implications for human resources departments are discussed, and future lines of empirical research are proposed to measure the statistical impact of this moderation on the national retail sector.
